About this piece; Lo Squalo (The Great White).
Upon my return from South Africa where I went Great White Shark cage diving in 2004 I felt inspired to do a piece in Bronze. I did some research and finally based the sculpture on the photography of Chris Fallows, Great White Shark expert based in South Africa and environmentalist in the Discovery Channel program “Air Jaws”. The piece itself is of the shark as it is about to make the final blow to kill a seal, the Great White is known to spectacularly attack its prey from below by thrusting itself from the water itself.
The sculpture is cast in bronze, hollow with a flat base and professionally patinated at Bronze Art Ltd Dublin. This is the second in the edition the first which is owned by myself is the artist’s edition.
